Set amid the backdrop of the stunning Great Glen landscape in Scotland, this holiday destination can be summed up in two words – “glamping” and “Nessie.” As you might guess, Loch Ness Glamping is a luxury camping spot for those hoping to catch of glimpse of the elusive creature said to frequent the deep waters of the loch. If the monster spotting doesn’t go to plan (and let’s face it, that’s highly likely) you can return to “roughing-it” in your private eco-retreat complete with under-floor heating.
Located near Drumnadrochit on Loch Ness, the accommodation facility is home to several independent wooden retreats called “Armadillas.” Each cabin features comfy sofas that convert into bedding for sleeping, a private bathroom, kitchenette, flat screen TV and ample storage space.
The cabins open out onto private outdoor patios, allowing guests to sit under the stars at night and enjoy the silence that comes with a remote camping experience. In cooler seasons, the area is known for its chilly weather patterns and thus under-floor heating has been installed into the huts, providing a true “glamp” out.
Loch Ness Glamping offers access to a range of outdoor activities, including extensive walking tracks, biking, exploring ancient castles, white water rafting, caving, tree climbing, diving, skiing, snowboarding and, of course, monster spotting.
A night in an Armadillas cabin will set you back £55.00 (US$88.75) for two people.
