Cozy it up this rainy season.

When you hear of Santorini, you imagine being surrounded by buildings boasting white limestone and bright blue highlights, a drink on hand while looking over the Aegean Sea’s glistening waters. While this postcard-like view is an ideal vacation experience, it’s not easy (or cheap) to fly overseas for a trip to the Greek island. Fortunately, there are local destinations that take inspiration from Santorini, like Luan in Tanay, Rizal. But instead of going on an island getaway, this Santorini-like escape will have you surrounded by a forest.
An outdoor adventure at Luan
As we tread into gloomy days due to the rainy season, cozying it up in mountainside cabins is the way to go. But if you want to want to take it up a notch and have the full outdoor experience but remain comfortable throughout the vacation, glamping might be for you. Surrounded by lush greenery, Luan offers modern geodomes for glamping. They have various domes, one of which boasts a Santorini-like design.
The Annika Dome showcases Santorini’s iconic colors of white and blue in its outdoor amenities. While we see this inspiration in beachfront resorts, Luan puts its unique twist by incorporating it into one of its relaxing glamping domes. During your stay, you’ll have an entire dome exclusively, accommodating up to six people. There are two beds inside with a view of the surrounding trees. You’ll also find chairs inside the dome, perfect for making a nook for photo-taking or reading.
The dome also has a private toilet and bath.
The real treats are its outdoor spaces, which will make you appreciate the gentle breeze and fresh air, and go into full relaxation mode. You can prepare your meals in the equipped kitchen.
Right across it, you’ll find a small plunge pool that’s also exclusive to your group only. This is also a fun amenity if you’re visiting Luan with kids!
The space also has a dining area, which doubles as a lounging nook. With fluffy pillows and seats, it’s totally understandable if this also ends up as a siesta spot during your stay.
For the full experience, guests may also use the bonfire area at night. Just an important thing to note: quiet time is from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM, so you might want to take this into consideration, especially when you want to go stargazing or have a few drinks.
Rates at the Annika Dome start at P10,000 per night.
Luan is located in Sampaloc, Tanay, Rizal. For booking inquiries and more information, visit Luan’s official website or send a message on Facebook.
