Glamping, short for “glamorous camping,” is coming to York County.

Codorus State Park is one of eight Pennsylvania state parks to offer glamping through a partnership with Timberline Glamping Company. Featuring safari-style tents, the facility — which launches in spring 2026 — will include comfortable beds, heat, air conditioning and other modern amenities.

“Pennsylvania has always been where families come to connect with nature and each other around campfires and under the stars,” said Anne Ryan, deputy secretary of the Pennsylvania Tourism Office. “Now, with glamping, we’re expanding that tradition to welcome travelers who want the magic of the outdoors with modern comfort and convenience.”

Codorus State Park, which covers 3,500 acres in Heidelberg, Manheim, Penn, and West Manheim Townships in southwestern York County, is 1 of the 8 state parks across the Commonwealth that will be offering the upscale camping option in the spring.

Camping season at Codorus State Park is from April 10 through Oct. 31. The current rates are $189 per night.

According to the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), the upscale option is being offered through Timberline Glamping Company at the 8 state parks. It is the first foray into the Northeast United States. Pennsylvania will now host more Timberline glamping locations than any other state.

The tents also include stylish lighting, decor and outdoor seating, according to state officials. Each park with glamping sites will include one ADA-accessible tent.

Add-ons include local experiences, firewood bundles, games, and gourmet s’mores kits, connecting visitors with local communities and businesses.

DCNR Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn said in a statement that reservations for the Spring 2026 season are now being taken for the 61 glamping sites scattered among 8 state parks.

“This new offering is another way we’re ensuring that our state parks remain welcoming and enjoyable for all Pennsylvanians,” Dunn said. “By transforming underused campsites into beautiful glamping experiences, we’re expanding overnight options in a way that’s affordable, sustainable, and beneficial to local communities. These are truly places where adventure feels like home.”
