Scotland Gets A New Surfing Resort And Its Already Making…

The world’s first inland surfing resort is coming to Scotland and will certainly make waves among legions of surf aficionados. Lost Shore Surf Resort opens in the Fall 2024 and will include luxury lodges, unique accommodation pods, restaurants, spa and shopping. But the state-of-the-art Surfing pool is the real highlight.

The resort is set within a 60-acre country park, with a surf lake and enormous wave pool. Fronted by an expansive beachfront, the surfing lagoon will be Europe’s largest inland surf destination.

The wave technology was developed by Wavegarden, and is capable of producing up to 1000 customized waves per hour. Surfers will be able to enjoy wave rides of up to 22 seconds, and with more than 20 different varieties of waves for all abilities. Beginners will be able to benefit from tuition from surfing instructors and wetsuits and surfboard hire will be included in the cost.

Luxury accommodations include 3 & 4-bedroom lodges, as well as Armadilla designed Waves and Kurvs that sleep up to 6 people. The Pods are more intimate options in their unique surroundings. Featuring high tech features, including underfloor heating, the waterfront accommodations located on a terraced slope will be adjacent to the food market, and overlooking the whole Cove.

Armadilla Kurvs are designed from the ground up, to be 100% wheelchair friendly. Family Waves are the largest of the lakeside accommodation units, and have a world-class fit and finish to them, with an aesthetic that has to be seen to be believed. Fully fitted kitchens are provided in both the Kurvs and Waves, meaning you can draw (at the touch of a button!) the curtains and have a private night in. Super-King sized bed, bunk bed, and a sofa bed give a maximum capacity of 6 people in both.

Armadilla, manufacturer of eco-friendly, outdoor living is supplying two types of self-catering units including 11 Pods and eight Waves.

Lost Shore is less than half an hour by car to Edinburgh and only 45 minutes from Glasgow. Entry is free and surf lessons begin at 100 euros for three sessions, while lodging in the pods starts at 100 euros per night.
